A little story about how saying yes to this work changed the way I show up for couples.

Becoming a wedding officiant was not something I planned. It felt more like something that tugged at me until I finally listened. After years of being surrounded by weddings in Durham Region, photographing couples, witnessing vows, and watching all those tiny emotional moments unfold, I started to feel a quiet pull to be part of the ceremony itself.

Photography let me see hundreds of ways two people choose each other. I saw nerves, laughter, shaky hands, messy emotions, and so many beautiful, unscripted moments. Over time, the ceremony became my favourite part of the day. It is the calm in the middle of everything. It is the moment that actually matters most. It is the moment people remember years later.

Eventually I realized I wanted to help shape that moment, not just document it. I wanted couples to have a ceremony that felt personal and grounded. Something warm and simple. Something that felt like them.

So I became a licensed Ontario wedding officiant.
And honestly, I fell in love with the work almost immediately.

I love helping couples slow down long enough to really take in what they are doing. I love guiding people through the legal steps so they can relax and just be present. I love creating ceremonies that feel comfortable and natural, where nothing is awkward or forced.

Whether we are standing at Parkwood Estate in Oshawa, tucked into a quiet backyard in Courtice, or gathered for an intimate ceremony in Clarington, my approach stays the same. Warm, personal, simple. No stiff scripts. No pressure to perform. Just a moment that feels honest and true.

If you are getting married in Oshawa or the wider Durham Region and want a ceremony that feels calm and meaningful, I would love to be part of it.

If you are planning a ceremony, you can find more details here. Your “yes” deserves a moment that feels like you.
